    Hi Jenni,

Just wanted to say how inspiring your story is to me ( read it on the Daily Mail website tonight) and how wonderful you look ( although I should say that I’ve always thought you looked pretty and stylish.)
I’m going to sign up to your 100 steps and hope it can support me through my own transformation.

    HI Jenni,

Maybe it was the music I was listening to while I was reading your article in the Mail online, but we all have our moments of .. come on girl, and get on with it. Being a paraplegic with a weight problem adds it’s own frustrations, but will have to dust off the Wii and listen to the hypnoslim CD and sign up for your 100 steps. Wish me luck!!!

    Hi Jenni

Just saw your article in the DM (not a paper I usually read) and had to sign up. I went to my GP yesterday at nigh-on breaking point when I realised I’m a few pounds off 13 stone. At 4’10 that’s not a good thing. I spent 3 weeks in hospital last year having a pacemaker fitted and that scared the hell out of me – it’s not related to my weight but I really don’t want to end up with even more health issues. Something about shifting the weight makes me nervous though – I was always the chubby kid with the fat mum, now I’m the jolly fat one. In my mind every problem can be blamed on my weight. If nothing changes for me when I lose it, what do I blame then?

Scary, but I need to do it.

    Me x

    Hi Jenni
I don’t know where to begin, but all i can say is thank you. I’m 5’7 and over 16st
You’ve have, by now heard the same stories over & over again. But for me yours is the enlightenment to the end of a very painful and heartfelt struggle.
I to have battled with my weight for many of years and yo yo up and so much the damn string is broken.
Being part of a family of very beautiful women has been hard going not that it’s anyone’s fault apart from mine with a little help from my mother, who back in the eighties was a model.
I to have had thoughts about having a gastric band and have consulted my GP about this and to my surprise have agreed that for me is a good idea given there are a list of health issues within the family!

I would like to ask you, at any point were you frightened? You hear all the horror stories about bands and bypasses.

Also i’ve been talked out of having the op so many times by friends and family not because they are jealous but because they fear something may go wrong, which then makes feel bad for even thinking of having such a thing done, as it is organ mutilation which i have to say is the chord that puts me in two minds.

Thank you so much for sharing you’re story!

just read your daily mail article, we are the same height ,we were both the same weight. Five years ago i lost 5 and a half stone , my family who are all large west indians who eat badly,my learning ground for my obesity, said i would never keep it off , and found fault with my chosen diet, lighter life.
I have regained some weight i am between 14 – 16 now which at 50 years old i am happy with , i feel well vibrant healthy , sexy vivacious ,cheeky ,do things the big girl would never.
You look fabulous, when you lose weight what i have learned is people need to get to know the thinner you, as i said above you change ,confidence for most goes thru the roof! yes you get nasty comments , how i reply , if i bother, is if you can take my constant backache , swollen ankles, aching kness ,for me then i would stay the same as some one else can have he pain. Yes imppossible! , if someone embarks on a plan to live longer and heathier it should be applauded, encouraged ,supported . well done stay healthy , and always excercise daily,

  7. Coral Chapman (aka Cee cee) says:

Well done Jenni, so proud of you. I`m now 4 years post op, and still can`t believe it`s me when I look in the mirror, and I totally understand, about friends not recognizing you. My agent didn`t recognize me when she first saw me a couple of years back. She immediately ordered me to have some new pubicity photos done.

Until you have had this op, no one knows how bloody hard it is, and how you have to change your relationship with food, and yourself.!!
